delegates to the recent “ME Naman, Na Naman!” Pinoy Microentrepreneurs’ Convention held at the Diosdado Macapagal Hall of the Land Bank Plaza in Manila last March 7-8, 2013.

Nanays Adela Rivadeniera, Hilda Sy and Fely Belen from CARD Bank, Inc. and Nanays Julie Anne Reginio and Bella Albarico from CARD SME Bank were among the more than 100 growth-oriented micro-entrepreneurs from across the country who participated in the two-day convention which gathered successful microentrepenuers to share their experiences and gain new knowledge to further grow their businesses and bring them to bigger markets.

During the convention, the five Nanays acquired new strategies and practical tips in sustaining business amidst increasing competition and finding the right market and new trends in product packaging and design. They also had the chance to learn from successful entrepreneurs like Mr. Rommel Juan of Binalot and Ms. Jeannie Javelosa of Echo Store.

alongside Papemelroti owner Ms. Patys Paterno and PLDT Ka Asenso Ambassador Mr Jeorge Wieneke III. She shared about the story of her struggles as a microentrepreneur and how she was able to overcome these through the help of CARD and the assistance she got from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST). She proudly talked about how she was able to help her community by sourcing the bananas used for her products from her fellow CARD center members.

Going home equipped with the new knowledge and ideas that they can use to grow and expand their enterprises, the CARD Nanays were inspired to strengthen their business practices and were very grateful to CARD MRI for being chosen to be part of the conference.
